  • The beneficiary is the policyholder and insured, complying with the Dependency Act, and who is also eligible for the tax benefit as a form of social insurance. 

  • The older the insured is, the greater the likelihood of becoming dependent on care. The costs associated with long-term care needs are significantly high (home adaptations, care homes, care in the person’s own home, etc.).

    Meeting the costs arising from long-term care can threaten assets built up over a lifetime.

  • Public care cover is very limited. Taking out dependency insurance will top up your public cover if you qualify for it. It will help protect your assets, lessen the burden of care which would otherwise fall on your family, and enable you to decide where you want to receive care (including in your own home).

  • The physical and emotional toll of caring for loved ones who are dependent on others is an act of compassion, but placing that burden on your partner, children or other family members can create significant emotional and physical strain, and this is something which can be avoided.
