Recognitions and Awards
The following are some of the recognitions and awards received by the AXA Foundation in recent years.
AXA Foundation - Mayte Spínola 2020 Gold Medal for its philanthropic work (July 2021)
The AXA Foundation was awarded the Mayte Spínola Gold Medal in the Philanthropy category for its ongoing cooperation with institutions that promote culture and solidarity initiatives. The award, presented at a ceremony held on July 6, 2021 at the El Romeral House-Museum, was received by Josep Alfonso, General Director of the AXA Foundation. The Mayte Spínola Gold Medal Awards were created in 2015 by Mayte Spínola to recognize initiatives in the fields of arts, science, sport, and solidarity. Since then, the recipients have been selected annually by a jury composed of distinguished members of the Grupo pro Arte y Cultura (GpAyC) and its founder.
First place in 2019 Transparency ranking
In 2019 The AXA Foundation received recognition for being the top foundation in terms of transparency, achieving the highest transparency ranking for such organizations in Spain, conducted by Fundación Compromiso y Transparencia (Commitment and Transparency Foundation). This award was announced at a press conference.
Best business initiative in Spain (October 2017)
Consejo Español de Resucitación Cardiopulmonar (The Spanish Council for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, CERCP), granted its Award for the Best Business Initiative in Spain 2016 to the AXA Foundation for its "Desfibriladores Salvavidas” (Lifesaving Defibrillators) project.
Recipient of award for the creation of the AXA Risk Prevention Chair (November 2016)
The Instituto Técnico de Prevención (Technical Institute for Prevention, ITP) granted the Ramazzini Award to the Parque de las Ciencias de Granada (Granada Science Park) and the AXA Foundation for the creation of the AXA Risk Prevention Chair. This award recognizes initiatives that promote and raise awareness of the importance of risk prevention as well as research and education in this field.
Best public health campaign (October 2016)
laSexta network and the AXA Foundation were given this award by the New Medical Economics journal, in recognition of its work and commitment in supporting medical and scientific research with its "Constantes y Vitales" (Vital Signs) campaign (.
Capital Arte al Mecenazgo (Capital Arte Awards for Philanthropy Award) (June 2016)
The AXA Foundation received this award for its philanthropic work supporting the Prado Museum's temporary exhibit program. The Capital Arte awards recognize companies that support the development of museum exhibits and help facilitate public access to different areas of artistic creation, foundations that exemplify innovation and entrepreneurship, and private patrons who contribute to the enrichment of the arts.
The Burgos City grants its Ambassador of the Year Award to the AXA Foundation (June 2016)
The AXA Foundation was selected as a recipient of the 2015 City of Burgos Ambassador of the Year Award. The jury recognized the Foundation's commitment to the City of Burgos through its sponsorship of the Burgos Cathedral Painting Competition and its support of Burgos heritage.
"Premio Valores Culturales" Burgos Cultural Values Award (December 2015)
"La 8," Burgos' local television station, hosts its annual awards gala recognizing the work of individuals, companies, and organizations that contribute to the development of the province of Burgos. The AXA Foundation received the award in the Cultural Values category for its 20-year contribution to the restoration and preservation of the Burgos Cathedral. The award, decided by popular vote, was collected by Josep Alfonso, AXA Foundation Director.
2nd Annual Dales La Palabra Foundation Award (March 2015)
The AXA Foundation and the Asociación AXA de Todo Corazón received this award for their numerous initiatives supporting care of people with disabilities, promoting workplace inclusion, developing inclusive education programs and work placement agreements with universities, and participating in disability and employment fairs as well as Paralympic sport events.
