Heavy rain warning

Follow these recommendations:

  • <b>Roofs</b><br/>Check they are in good condition.
  • <b>Solar panels</b><br/>Inspect fixings and the tightness and corrosion of nuts and frames to ensure they aren’t damaged by wind resistance. It’s also a good idea to clear away fallen leaves and animal remains.
  • <b>Trees</b><br/>If you have trees nearby, make certain they are maintained and pruned to prevent branches from coming down.
  • <b>Enclosures, windows, external doors and skylights</b><br/>Check they are in the best possible condition to withstand gales.
  • <b>Inventory, equipment and supplies</b><br/>If they are outdoors, try to store them indoors or under cover. At the very least, keep them away from trees, lampposts and electrical wiring.
  • <b>Vehicles</b><br/>If you can’t keep them on your premises, take them to a nearby garage during the worst of the storm.
  • <b>Outdoor signs and awnings</b><br/>Check they are securely fastened and can withstand the wind.

  • <b>10 metres</b><br/>Recommended minimum distance between the industrial unit enclosure and combustible materials.
  • <b>Humidity</b><br/>Monitor the level. Some materials catch fire when damp.
  • <b>Use cooling compressors</b><br/>To improve the performance of computer equipment.

Flood warning

Follow these recommendations:

  • Protect your business with preventive measures: store keys and crucial documents in high places, install protective barriers, waterproof seals, emergency generators, etc.
  • Set up an emergency response team and establish and share a protocol for them to follow.
  • Move vulnerable equipment, raw materials and finished products away from doors and windows.
  • Keep employees informed about the situation and the measures to be taken.
  • Protect employees from electric shock or health risks posed by contaminated water. Train them and give them information about safety, medical emergencies, etc.
  • Make sure your premises comply with all safety regulations and take any necessary measures, including evacuation if required.
