Professional Experience

  • Negotiated and moderated the first televised electoral debate between José María Aznar and Felipe González in 1993, on Antena 3
  • In 2008, negotiated the two televised electoral debates between José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and Mariano Rajoy as President of the Spanish Television Academy
    Served as moderator in the first debate
  • In 2011, organized and moderated the only televised electoral debate between Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba and Mariano Rajoy, broadcast by the Spanish Television Academy as host broadcast feed
  • In 2015, organized and moderated one of the televised electoral debates between Mariano Rajoy and Pedro Sánchez. Broadcast by the Spanish Television Academy as host broadcast feed
  • In 2016, organized and directed the electoral debate for the Spanish general elections on 26 June between Mariano Rajoy, Pedro Sánchez, Albert Rivera and Pablo Iglesias.
  • Anchored daily news on TVE 1 from 1983 to 1986 and later the program “Punto y Aparte”
  • Directed the radio news program "Hora 25" (Cadena SER ) from 1987 to 1991
  • Director of Antena 3 TV in 1992; appointed Vice President in 1995, a position held until July 1997
  • Founded and served as President of Antena 3 International Channel in 1994
  • Creator and director of programs "Generación XXI" and "Soñadores", focused on promoting entrepreneurship on various Spanish television networks)
  • Currently President of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in Spain
  • Also Director and Professor at the Institute of Business Communication
