Institut Guttmann

The Institut Guttmann is a non-profit organization whose main objective is to promote, support, and achieve the comprehensive rehabilitation of people affected by spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury, or other neurological disabilities; to advance research and teaching in the field of spinal injury neuroscience; and to provide patients with the most appropriate support and services to achieve full social reintegration. It also aims to contribute to the full recognition of their rights and equal opportunities.

Since 2008, the AXA Foundation and the Instituto Guttmann have signed a Protocol of Action aimed at strengthening, streamlining, and facilitating the referral of seriously injured individuals covered by AXA Insurance, both nationally and internationally, to the Instituto Guttmann, in order to provide them with comprehensive or targeted treatment within specialized programs for patients treated in other centers, as well as to support the training of the company’s employees in this field.
