FAQs

  • No. To ensure that any damage or injury caused by your dog is covered, you have to register it and get the certificate

  • You can include up to at most five dogs

  • Whatever breed your dog is, you can include it in your home insurance

  • Anyone in charge of your dog will be protected against any damage or injury your dog may cause

  • It is made up of:

    • The main construction: foundations and load-bearing walls; slabs, beams, girders and columns; partition walls, ceilings and floors; roofs and façades; doors and windows.

    • Auxiliary constructions: built-in cupboards and wardrobes, fireplaces and glazed enclosures.

    • Outbuildings and attached structures on the same property shown in the policy, such as garages, storage rooms, woodsheds or cellars.

    • Enclosure and retaining walls and fences whether attached to the insured building or not.

    • Recreational and sports areas which you can use as the homeowner and their ancillary facilities (such as the swimming pool).

    • Fixed systems for:
              - Water, gas, electricity, radio, ham radio and television aerials, energy and telecommunications.
              - Home automation.
              - Heating and air conditioning, including boilers, radiators and cooling devices that are fixtures.
              - Sanitary fixtures.
              - Blinds, shutters and awnings.
              - Plot or garden paving and the home’s private light posts.
              - Ornamental items such as suspended ceilings, carpeting, fabric coverings, wallpaper and wood panelling that are permanently attached to the main or auxiliary constructions or attached structures.

  • Household items typically found inside the home, such as:

    1. Moveable property:
              a. Furniture, appliances, electrical and electronic equipment.
              b. Clothing and domestic furnishings.
              c. Foodstuffs.
              d. Personal use items.
              e. Pets that are dogs, cats, birds or fish.
              f. Items for professional use up to 25% of the sum insured for moveable property.

    2. Jewellery: which means:
              a. Objects made of gold, silver and platinum, whether or not set with pearls or precious stones, and mounted precious stones.
              b. Gold and silver coins which are not part of a collection.

    3. Objects of artistic value:
              a. Works of art and antiques such as tapestries, paintings, rugs, carpets and furs whose unit value is greater than €10,000.;
              b. Collections and incunabula of any value.

  • Direct damage to insured property as a result of accidental spills or leakage of water or other liquids from fixed systems (including due to failure to turn off taps, stopcocks or any other type of valve or not turning them off properly) or appliances connected to the water mains.

    This includes liquids other than water used by heating, hot water and fire extinguishing systems.

    Damage resulting from underground sewerage systems such as septic tanks, sumps, drains, sewers or similar.

    Damage due to aquariums and/or fish tanks provided their capacity is over 30 litres.

    Water damage caused by frost.
